I am full of exclamation marks!

Bentov was a creative scientist, inventor, thinker and mystic.

27th March, 2010

I am reading Bentov, Stalking the Wild Pendulum, and have just started the section entitled, ‘Construction and Maintenance of a Nature Spirit’. I am full of exclamation marks! So of course, I had this in mind as I went about the puja.

I go to the tree, chanting the first of the Vedic shanti mantras. As I chant I prepare the puja – I pour the water in a circle around the jyoti shelter, I put the oil and wick in the deepak and light them, from the flame of the jyoti I light the incense and place it, I pick a flower for the puja, thanking the plant that sacrifices its flowers for this purpose.

Peace.

I close my eyes and offer this prayer,

“May all the trees of all the world be loved and respected as you are.”

And I try not to think.

This morning I felt that the tree welcomed and wanted me. As a presence and a friend, she wanted me to visit her and sit awhile. She is waiting for the weather to cool down so that she can properly rest.
